Summary: We always enjoy our stays at the Sonnenalp. The bell service was particularly good, especially Jacob from Alabama and the other guy from Minnesota. We normally love eating at the Bully Ranch but our server had to leave midway through our meal and the person who took over did absolutely nothing. We had to track him down just to get our check. And the service in the hotel was particularly slow this time around. These things, while normally just minor frustrations, are compounded because we have a medically complex child and having to wait or go without because no one is following up can be very challenging. Given the cost of the hotel and its location, we do expect fantastic service. We were disappointed this time around, and may try another hotel next time as a result.

Summary: Was a pleasant enough stay until the final night when a wedding started right outside our room with the loudest outdoor music I have ever heard in Vail having come here for 2 decades. We were traveling with our 5 month old and despite the property knowing that (they put a crib in our room), they never disclosed this would be happening. When I called to express my disappointment, they said they could move all of us to another room that "may be quieter," as if moving an infant and all of our stuff through a hotel at that time of night would actually be a better situation. In the morning I received a message letting me know that parking fees would be waived- which is far from a satisfactory response. I would not recommend you stay here for a family destination.

Summary: A dream stay. It felt like we were at a castle but with all the modern amenities you could want. The comforter was pillowly soft, the bathrooms exquisite, and the service impeccable. Loved every minute.

Summary: We have been loyal to the Sonnenalp for years. And I have to say, was a little disappointed this trip. The front desk gal had attitude, our room was not ready at 4 pm, which is absolutely unacceptable. So yes, our overall stay was fine, but we did not receive the above average service we normally get.

Summary: Probably the best hotel in Vail. Perfect location, great amenities, great food at Bully Ranch, and their Cafe has huge, delicious croissants - some of the best I’ve ever eaten. We stayed in a Juniper Suite with 2 queens, balcony overlooking the pool and creekside. Bathroom was huge. Everything was just perfect. I would stay here again.

Summary: Great Location - Vail Village! The service was terrible in every aspect, waited on bags for over hour when checking in, we stated we can take them on our own but the staff insisted (it felt it was tip related) but we were in a rush. There was no blankets for the murphy bed or main bedroom, called 3x. I inquired to 3 staff members for a towel in mens bathroom near gym they all walked or said someone should refil them soon, the pool was filthy with leaves and not vacuumed, property was dated, and someone walked in our room asking if someone was there for checkout and my significant other was in the shower as I ran to door and no apology. I assume when staying in a "FIVE" star property, the service would align.
